About Monica
Monica was born in Vienna, Austria where she studied photography and design. She arrived in Mexico in 1965 and has lived there ever since.
Her Passion = Mexico
Monica began her career as an artist in Mexico and started welding by setting up shop right next to a flour mill in Mazatlan. She then moved to Guadalajara where she set-up her studio and joined the Antique Dealers Association and Artesanias de Jalisco.
Her Inspiration = Pre-Columbian Art
From a very young age she knew that she wanted to go to Mexico as she was fascinated by its archeology and history. She was also an avid pre-Columbian art and antiques scholar. Some of her designs reflect this passion which includes hints of pre-Columbian designs.
Her Parter = Ivan Zenteno
Ivan, an artist himself, a Renaissance man, currently focused in painting, has been Monica's partner for 27 years. Together they have travelled throughout Mexico.
